📖 This Week's Story

On August 6, the Church celebrates the Transfiguration — "Metamorphosis" in Greek. This is one of the most important feasts of the summer. Jesus took three of his disciples — Peter, James, and John — up a high mountain called Mount Tabor. Suddenly, Jesus's face began to shine like the sun! His clothes became dazzling white. Moses and Elijah appeared beside him. God's voice spoke from a cloud: "This is my beloved Son. Listen to him!" The disciples fell to the ground in awe. They had seen Jesus in his true glory! This feast reminds us that Jesus is the light of the world — and that glory is waiting for all of us.
